A MUSICAL fund-raiser is being staged to boost the campaign to help a brave Burnley baby.
Burnley town centre bar Guys as Dolls Showbar is hosting a special night for Cavan Kirkham-MacCallum on the same day as the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, May 24th.

It aims to raise hundreds of pounds to go towards his fund for treatment for his rare bone condition.

Fun activities will be available at the event and the song contest will be shown on the big screen in the bar in St James's Street.

Entrance is £2 and all money raised will go to the Cavan's Fund, to help provide for the years of vital treatment Cavan needs to be able to walk and use his right arm properly.

The family have set up an official website and email address for people to donate money to help little Cavan, at www.cavansfund.co.uk, and cavansfund@yahoo.com. All money will go directly towards Cavan and his treatment.

The nine-month-old suffers from the condition hemimelia, which means his bones did not develop properly before he was born, and he will never walk or use his arms properly unless he undergoes amputations in his legs where there is no bone.

Fake prosthetic limbs will be fitted, and he will need experimental lengthening treatment on his arm, which is half the length of his left arm and only has one finger.

All this will have to happen in the next year, so Cavan can learn to walk and get used to his new limbs and be a normal little boy.
