BURNLEY fire crews were called to a Burnley primary school last night after vandals set fire to a pile of car tyres.

The tyres had been piled next to Holy Trinity Primary School in Piccadilly Road.

Fire-fighters attended the scene at 8-50 p.m. and used a hose reel to put out the blaze, which caused damage to a window and plastic fascia board.
