BURNLEY Town Hall was evacuated last night during a council meeting resulting in a defeated candidate being arrested.
The recently defeated Rosegrove with Lowerhouse British National Party candidate Mr John Rowe was arrested on suspicion of setting off a fire alarm in the town hall.

It is believed that Mr Rowe must write in advance if he wishes to attend a Burnley Borough Council meeting because of previous disruption in meetings.

But at the first full meeting of the new council Mr Rowe was denied entry.

Fire-fighters were called to the town hall as everyone in the building had to gather on the street between 7 p.m. and 7-30 p.m.

Mr Steve Rumbelow, Burnley Council's chief executive, said: "It is not the disruption to our meeting that concerns me so much as the fact that this mindless act risked lives in other parts of Burnley; our emergency services could have been needed elsewhere.

"This completely irresponsible act wastes tax payers money and put lives of Burnley folk at risk."

The story actually says he was suspected of setting an alarm off,i thought that you was innocent until proven guilty in this country, not under a labour government your not! and being a counciler im sure you know all about wasting tax payers money, after all,the contempt you lot have for the council tax paying public is beyond belief, typical labour, the party of the non working scrounging layabouts,i suggest that it is you reynolds that is the idiot for supporting the party of high tax, pension theft, etc, look at yourself for a change, idiot!

Darren, Who made you Judge and Jury? Who has the right to ban a council tax payer access to a council meeting?
As for wasting money what is all this about A LibDem yob czar? is that £6,000 a year for doing nothing? for a made up job to reward a "toady".
Let the courts decide, you only took the photo, nothing else.

The Reynolds you are on about is him from Rosegrove, He has yet to speak at a full council meeting after more than a year, when he turns up.
It seems clear that John Rowe did indeed carry out the said deed, Where I do not agree with his actions lets at least have a reality check, Forget the ifs and buts that Rumbelow is so fond of, nobody died, nobodys house burnt down, nobody was speeding up Padiham rd, so the fire service or police were not needed anywhere else.
John is known to me, but I would have given him a fine that covered the cost of the whole operation Not £80 and then a punishment for the offence.
But I see Reynolds and meant to be neuteral Rumberlow are out to score as many political points as they can out of it, that is prob why they did not want to pursue costs, Will make more headlines if the taxpayer pays.

A few points:
I think the fact that this silly man had already caused disruption at previous meetings was the reason he was not allowed in.
He couldn't have known that the emergency services were not going to be needed elsewhere when he pulled his childish stunt.
He should be charged the full cost of the emergency call-out.
Still, I suppose this sort of loutish behaviour is all you can exoect of the BNP.

Law abiding citizen, I must agree a very silly stunt, that was carried out by John Rowe The person. Not John Rowe the BNP candidate.
But lets talk about "Loutish" behaviour, Before we get on to your spelling.
Do you remember last Oct when Nick Griffin was speaking at the Oxford union? When hundreds of Left Wing unwashed thugs tried to stop the meeting going ahead, using intimidation and violence to try to get their own way, All funded by Labour and the Unions, Well what do you think of them? Law abiding citizen.
Or you could go on the Leftie sites and see them boasting how they damage property or attack people of the BNP, Again your thoughts please.
I am not even going to go into the crimes of the LibLabCon as most of them are to distasteful.I bet you would have a lot to say about them, Being A law abiding citizen.
The word you were looking for was Expect, Take your time, Think what you are writing, Look up facts, That way you will not look half as stupid and I will not have to tell you off for rushing and spelling words wrong.
