A BUS driver who befriended a schoolgirl passenger and then repeatedly had sex with her in a two-year campaign of abuse has been jailed for four years.
Ivan King (54), who bought the troubled victim underwear for her 14th birthday and kept it in a drawer at his home, gave her a sexually transmitted disease after sleeping with prostitutes in Thailand.

The girl was left suicidal, self-harming and needing treatment from the mental health after her ordeal at the defendant's hands, Burnley Crown Court heard.

The court was told how King had met the lonely teenager while he was working for Tyrer Tours, and had begun to control her.

The defendant, of Padiham Road, Burnley, admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child and was sentenced to four years. He was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register and was given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, banning him from having contact with youngsters under 16.
