A BURNLEY man was attacked with a hammer and had his face slashed with a razor blade by masked intruders who burst into his home.
The 27-year-old was assaulted at 6-20 p.m. on Saturday by three men who hit him on the legs with the hammer before cutting his face.

The victim, of Harold Avenue, Burnley, was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where he was treated for his injuries but was later released.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Temporary Det. Sgt. Ian Glass said: "We are asking anyone who was hanging about at that time and may have information to contact us. The man had quite a nasty cut on his head. He is now out of hospital and was not kept in."

Anyone with information should contact Burnley police on 425001 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
