A BURNLEY horse rider has led Great Britain to success at the Amateur Show Jumping Finals.
Eighteen-year-old Christine Bowdler claimed 2nd and 3rd place at the championships in Ireland.

This was her debut appearance for Team GB – but she promised more success in the future.

Christine has been riding since the age of three and studies at Crow Wood Equestrian Centre in Burnley, which teaches all Equine Studies courses from Myerscough College.

Following her success, she said: "Competing for Great Britain is obviously the highlight of my show jumping career so far and I feel honoured to have been able to take part in such a prestigious event.

"I was delighted with the results I achieved, especially considering that my horse is still only very young.

"Everybody at Myerscough was very supportive in the lead up to the event and encouraged me to put what I have learnt at the College in to practice. Hopefully this is only the start for me."
