You can leave a tribute to Leanne, share your memories and leave words of comfort for her family below. Her mum said: "Leanne was very resilient, extremely brave, especially through all her treatments. She had to have chemotherapy when she was just three because they found holes in her skull and she was always so brave."
This is the third tragedy to hit the family, as Mrs Ryan lost a son, 17-month-old Liam, to meningitis 17 years ago and it spurred the family on to raise thousands of pounds for research into the disease.
Her husband, Roger, the children's father, died aged 43 from a brain haemorrhage in 2002.
That same year, Leanne, then nine, nominated her mum in a national competition as the most important person in her life. Mrs Ryan won the competition and was given £75 while Leanne scooped £150.
Her mum added: "We are just devastated, I can't really put it into words. The boys don't know what to do, and my youngest, Jack, is just frightened. We are a close family and now we have lost Leanne.
"We used to call her our little princess because she was the only girl and she was so small. She was so caring, if anyone needed help she would run up and ask if they were okay and if she could do anything for them."
Leanne's funeral takes place on Friday at noon at Burnley Cemetery.
