POLICE have issued a warning to the public to "lock their doors" after two jewellery boxes were stolen from a house in Ronald Street, Burnley.
Culprits targeted the property between 3-10 p.m. and 3-40 p.m. on Monday, stealing items valued at £1,280.

Among the stolen goods were two lady's gold rings, a lady's love heart gold-coloured chain, a lady's diamond-coloured ring with a red ruby in the centre, a child's St Christopher's ring and two lady's sovereign rings.

THIEVES stole cash from a bandit machine and a charity box after breaking into the Canal Side Diner in Liverpool Road, Burnley.

The offenders, who broke the metal fence before smashing a window, also stole chocolate and soft drinks worth £65.

Damage was also caused to the cafe after the culprits set off a smoke cloak which covered the premises in white powder.


AN Adams Arno electric fire and a copper cylinder with piping was stolen from an empty property in Ada Street, Burnley. The stolen items were valued at £410.


THIEVES stole a sat-nav. system from a Volkswagen Caddy in Accrington Road, Burnley, worth £200.


A SAT-NAV. system was stolen from a Peugeot 307 from the car park at Burnley General Hospital in Casterton Avenue. The item was valued at £140.
