A YOUNG piano prodigy from Padiham has launched a bid for stardom on hit ITV show 'Britain's Got Talent' – despite being completely blind.
Eleven-year-old Jordan Livesey took his place among hundreds of hopefuls on the show but his amazing abilities shone through.

Despite his tender years, the boy who has been blind from birth wowed the judges who hailed his performance as "excellent".

The youngster, who lives in Lancaster Drive and attends Holly Grove School, Burnley, has been playing the piano since he was three and is determined to make it as a star pianist.

His mum Emma (29) explained it was a family friend who suggested Jordan should share his gift with the world and they sent off an application to appear on the talent show which produced superstar Susan Boyle.

The family are all fans of the show and were thrilled to hear the application had been successful.

Emma said: "We got a letter in November saying he had been invited to perform for the judges at the Manchester Central (formerly Gmex). When we got there there were hundreds of people. It was amazing. There were dancers, keyboard players, transvestites and football people. The atmosphere was fantastic. Everybody was stood up on chairs, singing, and shouting 'Manchester's got talent.'"

Then Jordan was called upstairs to the main stage to perform in front of the judges, but the little star revealed he did not have any fear. "I went out and I said my name was Jordan and I wanted to be a professional keyboard player.

"I was going to play "Hey Jude" by the Beatles, but I changed my mind and played a song by Debussy which I learned in a night.''
