ARSONISTS torched a huge metal recycling skip at a waste management centre in Princess Way.
Fire Crews were called out to the site which borders the new Burnley College at around 9-20 p.m. last night.
They spent 30 minutes damping down the flames in the metal container which they believe was started deliberately.
A malicious call was made to firefighters at 2-30 a.m. claiming smoke had been seen coming from a petrol station in Accrington Road.
Police also received a similar call, but when the emergency services arrived at the scene there was no sign of any incident.
