Alistair McGowan honours Sainsbury's worker
AWARD-WINNING Sainsbury's employee Pamela Eddison has won a fantastic third business nomination this year.
In May Mrs Eddison, the PR ambassador for Sainsbury's in Active Way, was invited to an annual awards event at Camelot where she scooped colleague of the year for the Burnley store, after being nominated by the management team in recognition of her personal performance and achievements.
She was then shortlisted as a finalist for the annual company award ceremony in London for her involvement in the store refurbishment earlier this year.
The event was hosted by comedian Alistair McGowan and Sainsbury's chief executive Justin King and finalists were given a tour of London and ride on the London eye.
Mrs Eddison's third nomination is for a National Customer Service Professional award. This is a separate industry award and Mrs Eddison, who has been with Sainsbury's for more than 20 years, has given a presentation to a panel of industry leaders at the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Berkshire. She will find out if she has scooped the top prize in an Oscars-style awards ceremony at The Grosvenor Hotel in London in September.
Mrs Eddison, who lives in Rossendale Avenue, Burnley, with husband David and children Daniel (17) and Gemma (13), said: "It's been an amazing year so far – I'm quite nervous about the national awards event – but also feel very proud and honoured to have been entered into the finals and to be a part of this."
