BURNLEY'S Development Director, Paul Fletcher, has been appointed as the club's new Chief Executive.
Mr Fletcher, who was a popular figure as a Clarets player at Turf Moor throughout the 1970s, originally rejoined the club in December 2007 following the announcement of a £30m redevelopment of Turf Moor and Gawthorpe.

The joint role as Chief Executive will now see him focus on commercial activities, including Conference & Banqueting, Retail the Ticket Office, Marketing and Matchday/Stewarding departments.

Mr Fletcher said: "Over the last 20 years I have been involved with numerous football clubs around the country and I am delighted to use this experience for the benefit of Burnley Football Club.

"In readiness for the new stand development coming on stream in two-years time the club needs to upgrade its services in a number of areas and I am pleased to take on this responsibility, whilst still working in my other important role on the redevelopment of Turf Moor.

"I hope this, in turn, frees time for the Chairman and Brendan Flood to spend more time with the manager on the important player matters."

Mr Fletcher takes up his new role with immediate effect.
