BURNLEY manger Owen Coyle has signed up defender David Edgar whose contract with Newcastle United has expired.
The 22-year-old defender, who hails from Canada, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal, with Burnley FC having to agree a fee to compensate the Magpies for the switch due to Edgar's age.

Edgar is the third player to arrive at Turf Moor recently, following in the footsteps of striker Steven Fletcher and defender Tyrone Mears.
