BURNLEY are bottom of the Premier League - when it comes to making payments to agents.
The club paid £468,398.48 between October 1st 2008 and September 30th this year, incorporating their first transfer window after promotion to the top flight.

Last year, betweem July 1st and December 31st, the amount was only £237,000, meaning promotion has not brought inflated amounts paid to players' advisors.

The amount, which is the aggregate of all payments made to agents during the reporting period for agency activity, including payments made by the club on behalf of players, is dwarfed by Manchester City.
City top the league for payments, spending more than Burnley did on players!

City spent an incredible £12,874,283 in fees - 27 times more than the Clarets, and almost a fifth of the total, £70,692,513, spent by the 20 clubs in the league.

Second were Chelsea, £3.5m adrift of City, with Manchester rivals United spending £11m less.

All told, there were 803 transactions over the period, which gives an average of £1.5m per week paid to agents.
