Clarets striker Besart Berisa has today (Friday) joined Rosenborg on loan.
The 23-year old, who is yet to make a league appearance for Burnley, has linked up with the Norwegian Premiership side until January.
And boss Owen Coyle admitted the loan deal is in the best interest of both parties.
"Bes will go on loan to Rosenborg until December. This will enable him to get match games which are vital for his rehabilitation.
"He has been out for a year and is not quite ready to start in our team just now, but if he goes there he will hopefully come back on the 1st of January as a new player and ready to play a part for Burnley Football Club.
"Bes desperately needs games and this serves a purpose because with all due respect to the reserve league that will not allow him to get back to the level he was at before.
"As I said, he's been out for a year exactly and this gives him the opportunity to play at a good level by playing week in, week out and hopefully we will get a better player as a result."
Berisha joined Burnley in July 2007 from Hamburg SV but has struggled with injuries during his time at Turf Moor.
The Albanian international announced his comeback from almost a year out with a cruciate knee injury with his first goal for the club in last month's 3-0 friendly win at Accrington Stanley.
