Arsenal took the lead when confusion between Andre Bikey and Clarke Carlisle presented Fabregas with an opportunity, and he duly tucked the ball to Jensens right.
Arsenal could have doubled their lead when Fabregas set himself up with some great footwork, but his volley went wide.
Moments later Andrey Arshavin hit the post when a neat back heal from Samir Nasri found him in space, but his shot rebounded off the upright.
Burnley got their equaliser from the spot when Bikey was fouled by a lunging Thomas Vermaelen, Mike Dean had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
Graham Alexander stepped up and smashed the ball down the middle, putting the Clarets level and notching his 100th league goal in the process.
In the second half Steven Fletcher cruelly had a goal disallowed when replays would suggest he was onside, and Chris Eagles hit a post when he was allowed to run through the Arsenal defence.
A draw was a fair result at the end of what was an entertaining game.
