A Lancashire teenager has been airlifted to hospital after being crushed when a fork lift truck toppled onto him.
The 16-year-old, who is from Blackburn, was left with "serious chest and neck injuries" after the incident at blacksmiths' yard, Austin Walmsley, at the Leachfield Industrial Estate on Green Lane West in Garstang.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by the North West Air Ambulance at 1.10pm on Tuesday.

Yard owner Austin Walmsley said the youngster had been "borrowing" the truck from his yard while working in a neighbouring unit.

A police spokesman confirmed the teenager was in a "serious condition".

The Health and Safety Executive was expected to visit the yard on Wednesday to open an investigation into the accident.
