A cabbie caught smoking in his taxi for the third time has been ordered to pay a total of £109.
Michael Whalley was seen smoking a cigarette in his Hackney Carriage, while waiting at the lights on Market Street, Lancaster, in August this year.

Mr Whalley, of York Place in Morecambe, had been fined twice previously for smoking in his taxi, when he was spotted by a council enforcement officer.

He pleaded guilty to the offence before magistrates and was ordered to pay a fine of £50, costs of £44 and £15 to a victims fund.
