A life on the ocean waves isn't for the faint-hearted as pupils at a boys' school have been finding out.
Students from Hutton CE Grammar, near Preston, were put through their paces when representatives from the Royal Marines visited the Liverpool Road school.

The muddy rugby fields were awash with bodies as pupils braved the rain to undergo a series of gruelling exercise routines, taking orders from members of the elite naval squad.

Besides being given a typical army-style exercise drilling, the pupils were set a number of tasks aimed at developing teamwork skills.

The event was organised as a training and leadership day for PE scholars, but was also rolled out to selected pupils.
