An investigation has been launched into a fire at a chemical depot which resulted in the closure of a Lancashire road.
Firefighters were called to TDG European Chemicals Ltd, in Whittingham Road, Longridge, at 3pm on Sunday, following reports a trailer was on fire.

Five pumps were sent to the scene and the road was closed by police, who diverted traffic away from the area.

It is believed nobody has been injured in the blaze, but witnesses reported seeing a ball of black smoke coming from the plant.

A spokesman for the company confirmed the fire had been extinguished by 3.45pm but the road closure remained in place.
