County bosses claim they have "dealt with" failings which led to fostering services damned as "inadequate."
Two senior county council officers quit last month before a report revealed the authority had "not moved on" in improving services following a previous critical review.

At a cabinet meeting, Lancashire County Council leader Coun Hazel Harding said: "There were obviously failings which have been dealt with and I'm convinced now that we will have a good knowledge of what is happening."

The politician said she has a policy not to "blame officers" for failings but added: "I regret and apologise for it (services) being inadequate but we only work with information we are given."
